Mid-sized car with full-sized allure: Passat named Most Appealing Midsize Car by J.D. Power and Associates

 
"At Volkswagen, driver satisfaction is a huge priority for us. That’s why we we’re excited that awarded the Volkswagen Passat the most appealing midsize car in their 2012 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, which looks at how gratifying a new vehicle is to own and drive.

The APEAL Study gauges satisfaction based on owner evaluations of almost 100 vehicle attributes that range from fuel economy to vehicle interior to engine to driving experience and more. The Passat TDI boasts a single-tank range of 795 miles, and with best-in-class rear legroom, passengers can enjoy every mile in comfort. The Passat wasn’t the only Volkswagen recognized in the study. The GTI, Tiguan, Touareg, and Golf all placed second in their categories, while the Beetle and Jetta placed fourth and sixth respectively. Dodge Brand Shares Story Behind Its Groundbreaking All-new 2013 Dodge Dart in First TV Ad

"The Dodge brand reveals its recipe for the groundbreaking all-new 2013 Dodge Dart in a new 90-second commercial debuting Tuesday, July 10, during the Major League Baseball (MLB) 2012 All-Star Game broadcast on the Fox network.

“How to Change Cars Forever” is a rapid-fire “instructional” spot on how to make a world-class car today, providing an inside look into the Dodge brand’s approach to designing and engineering its much anticipated entry into the highly competitive compact car segment. The TV spot introduces the tagline, “New Rules,” which speaks to how Dodge is redefining what a compact car can be. It will be followed this summer by 30-second and 60-second versions airing on major broadcast and cable networks and in movie theaters as Dodge Dart vehicles arrive in dealerships nationwide.

A full, multifaceted marketing campaign will launch in September and will include additional TV spots, print and digital advertising running in major media outlets. SRT Brand Takes its 2012 High-Performance Vehicle Lineup Across the Country for the Second Annual 'SRT Tour'

 
"Chrysler Group LLC’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand is hitting the road with its second annual “SRT Tour” featuring the entire 2012 vehicle lineup–including the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, Dodge Charger SRT8 and Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT8–visiting more than 30 locations over the next three months. 

The SRT Tour kicks off July 6 at Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, Pa., and will end in late September at the Viper Owner Invitational in Charlotte, N.C. 

“For the second summer in a row, we’ll be taking our SRT vehicles directly to thousands of performance fans and loyalists across the country,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Building off the success we had last summer, the SRT Tour generates a lot of excitement at each of the stops. We get to proudly share our entire 2012 lineup and meet enthusiasts who enjoy getting up close to our SRT vehicles while talking about all the power, performance, luxury and safety features.” 

Four full-time drivers will travel from city to city and be on-hand to answer questions about each of the SRT vehicles. A large display trailer filled with giveaway items and portable video screens will be towed by the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and set up at each stop along the way. 

The four drivers include: John “Hammer” Palazzolo, Jennifer Schneidua, Sean Yoder and Rachel Miller. 

Palazzolo is this year’s tour veteran, having led last year’s event. He brings years of experience with him as lead facilitator on the SRT Track Experience, the face of SRT videos on driveSRT.com and co-driver of the SRT factory entry, which won its class in this year’s Tire Rack One Lap of America.
